Framed Summary: Seven wants to know where Harry got a picture of the two of them together, smiling, so she interrogates him in his quarters. Disclaimer: Yadda, yadda yadda, the same old stuff. Nothing but the silly story belongs to me. All of the characters and such belongs to Paramount. My sole purpose in writing this is purely for my own entertainment. So there! Special thanks to kL for the title and the inspirational picture. _____________ Harry Kim laid on his bed in the comfort of his own quarters. He reveled in the isolation. Right now he was at peace with himself. It had been a few weeks, but he finally moved on, well, more like back where he started. He couldn't have felt better, or could he? The door chirped. "Enter," he said loudly not caring who came in. The door swished open allowing the visitor to enter. He got up and entered the living area. As soon as the doors shut, the visitor spoke, "Ensign Kim." "S-Seven? uh, Hi Seven," replied Harry as he checked to see who had entered. He was quite surprised to see Seven there. He seemed a little suspicious. Seven had never been to his quarters before, there was no reason for her to ever venture to a location deemed 'irrelevant' She was inspecting his quarters when she turned to him. "Where did you acquire this picture?" Seven picked up a picture from a nightstand and showed it to the Ensign. Harry looked at it. It was a picture of the two of them together smiling, really smiling. "Uh, why are you here Seven? Is there something you wanted to see me about?" he said trying to change the subject. "Yes, I am here because I wanted to ask you a question." "Okay," inside he was glad that she was willing to change the subject. "Where did you acquire this picture?" Seven demanded stepping closer to the Ensign. "Uh... uh..." "I do not recall having a picture taken of me smiling." "Well, uh." "Yes Ensign." "Damn!" he thought to himself. Why did he take that picture? Well, it was because he really wanted to have a picture of him with Seven. Of course, it would have been impossible to get her to agree to having her picture taken and even if she had been willing, she would definitely not have smiled. So he went to the holodeck, programmed a smiling Seven and took a picture. So why then did Seven care where he got the picture? And why was Seven in his quarters in the first place? He tried to change the subject once more. This time for some real answers. "Seven, why are you here?" "Ensign, I have already answered your question." "Yeah, I know, but you didn't really." "How so?" "Well, uh, what were you going to ask me before you saw the, uh, picture?" "I had hoped to ascertain where and how you acquired this picture." "Isn't there something important you should be doing?" he said hoping. "No, I have completed all the necessary tasks on my agenda except for one." "Hmm. Then maybe you should finish that last task." "That is precisely what I am doing, Ensign." Harry slouched and diverted his eyes off of Seven, he should have saw that one coming. "Ensign?... Where are you going?" "To the replicator. Would you like something?" "No, thank you." "Computer, replicate a glass of water. Please Seven. Have a seat." "As you wish." Seven casually sat down on the sofa. "Okay, where did I get this picture?" he said joining her. "I do not know, that is why I am asking you." "Sorry, I was talking to myself. Uh, I got it from the holodeck." "The holodeck?" "Yeah, I wanted a picture of us together and I wanted you to be smiling. But..." glancing at the picture still in her hand. "You programmed a duplicate who was socially adept at posing instead of asking me to assist you?" Seven stated with a little annoyance. "Well, I didn't think you would be willing." Harry replied slightly embarrassed. "You were wrong." "Really," he eked out with disbelief. "I saw the photo in your hand as you exited a turbolift one week ago. I had hoped to ask you where you attained it, but there were other tasks I had to complete." "Okay." "My efficiency has dropped five percent since last week." "Oh." "The duplicate of me in the photo appears happy," she commented, "you also appear happy." There was a brief pause in which Seven analyzed the photo. Harry studied her face for some sort of sign. She looked up and they made eye contact. "Ensign, do I make you happy?" Harry broke. "Yes Seven you do." "I wish to be happy... as happy as my duplicate. Will you assist me?" "Sure." He stifled a laugh, but his infamous grin provoked one from Seven. "That's great Seven. Are you busy right now?" "No. I am not," seriousness regaining control. Harry stood up. "Give me that." She had no chance to obey; Harry took the picture and tossed it into the recycler. "Ensign!" Seven began to protest. "Come." he offered her his hand. She took it. "Where?" she said confused. "To the holodeck. Let's go make you happy." The End
