The End By Stefan C. They were almost there, just across the Romulan border and they would be home. But the universe had one last trick up it's sleeve. Out of nowhere a huge Dominion ship their new enemies, came blazing across the stars. All seemed lost. A shuttle was taken and Voyager held in place and towed away. This seemed like the end. Harry paced the small cell of the Dominion ship, pounding the walls. "I Can't believe it. We came so close." He felt a hand on his shoulder it was Seven, no Ensign Hansen now.
"Lieutenant. Calm yourself, we should be forming a plan about how to escape." Harry looked around and sat down. He saw two guards entering the room outside the cell. "Okay, I've got a plan." He said and stood up. Seven looked through the forcefield. Harry was placing himself strategically at the entrance. "Seven when they get in her you jump the one on the left." She arched an eye-brow. "That's not much of a plan Ops-boy." He gave a small grin. "I was pressed for time." He crouched down. "Get down!" He whispered. Seven complied knowing well that this might be their only chance. The guards let down the forcefield and had gotten one step inside the cell when they both were lying on the floor. The guard outside, managed to sound the alarm. Seven promptly shot him. Harry picked up the guard's phaser. "Let's move out. We have to get to engineering and disable their warpcore somehow." Seven's was already working the closest computer terminal. "There is an access tunnel, hundred and fifty meters down this corridor it should take us directly to the main engineering area." Harry looked first left then right. "Lead the way." They stared half running towards the access tunnel, running in and out of alcoves. Then their luck ran out, they ran straight into phaser fire. Seven got shot, the phaser hitting her stomach. "SEVEN!" Harry cried out as he pulled her into an alcove. He shot likew shots and started working on the door. It slit open and he pulled Seven inside. There was allot of blood coming from the wound. He knew he could do little more then to hold her. He whispered gently to her. "Seven." She was turning pale and would soon be going into shock. She looked up and him, tears in those blue eyes. There was pounding at the door. "Yes Lieutenant." She said in a weak voice. "I need you to think. How far are we from the core?" He said in a low soothing voice. "Not far… twenty meters.. maybe a little more." She was beginning to shake now. "I screwed up didn't I…" She said in a low voice. "No, you were great." He said in as a cheerful tone as I could muster. "No, no. I failed, Captain Janeway is going to be so mad…" She said as tear ran down her cheek. "I'm so cold…" Harry gathered her tighter into his arms. "No she is not going to be mad. She'll be happy to see you, we'll have a big party in the mess hall." "With red flowers?" She said in a weak voice. "Yes." Harry said with a smile, tears beginning to run don his face. "With red flowers and everybody will be there, even Tuvok." Seven gave a weak smile. "I'm dying aren't I?" She asked. Harry knew he couldn't lie to her. "Yes, I can't stop the bleeding." Seven saw the tears in his eyes and reached up and stroked his cheek. "It's alright, at least I get to be with you. I'll not be alone, when the darkness comes." Harry looked down at this beautiful woman who had come to mean so much to him. He started pressing buttons on his phaser. "What are you doing?" Seven asked, her voice barely audible. "Something Tom would love. I am overloading the phaser's powercell. So when I press fire t will explode taking a good piece of the hull and hopefully the core with it." The pounding at the door grew louder. "Harry don't, you can still.." She trailed off. "No. I want to be here with you, plus there isn't anywhere I can run." He was about to press the button. "Harry, I love you." Seven said with a faint smile. Harry smiled and kissed her gently. "I know." He said as he pressed the button. From the bridge of Voyager the ship in front of them exploded into flames as the explosion reached the core. The Captain stood up and stared at the fire. "Good bye, my daughter." She said as a tear ran down her cheek. Tuvok placed an arm around her, she held onto him, the rock that always was there. All this death and loss had taken it's toll. Kes, Chakotay and now Seven and Harry. Tom began to sing a Klingon song that B'Elanna had taught him, in case death should come to her. They had sung it when Chakotay had crashed his last shuttle and now he sang it for his friends. Tuvok joined in and soon the entire bridge was singing as they headed for home. The End.
